What if I do not have the energy for the intense yoga practice?
Take it slowly! Gradually, your energy levels and capacity will improve. Your program will be constructed according to your ability. If you have a strong practice history, by all means, work hard and apply yourself and experience considerable refinement in the way, you practice yoga. If you need to take it easier relax, and take your time with the teachings.
Everyone learns in different ways at different rates. This is why it is important to develop a relationship with the "Master teacher" who can understand your needs, aspirations, difficulties and goals. Such a teacher will guide you to a higher level of understanding and self knowledge. Master Ji has worked with students all over the world for decades and understands well these needs, aspirations and difficulties that students can experience.

IN BENGALURU 2010
Mr. Viswanatha.
Mr. Viswanatha (Masterji) hails from Bengaluru in Karnataka in the South of India. He has taught Ashtanga yoga internationally for over 30 years and is easily one of the most celebrated yoga professionals in Southern India. In the early 1970's Viswanatha founded the Foundation of Pathanjala Yoga Kendra which sponsors humanitarian works, especially for economically challenged children in India. Viswanatha became a master educator in 1968, and has spent 12 years teaching Philosophy at Indian schools and colleges during his career.
Divine self
You must be relaxing in your home after a hectic as well as a leisure tour of India . I wish you to keep the sweet memories and forget the painful experiences.
After a long gap of several decades I had an opportunity to spend myself freely and openly. Lakshmi always tells me that I have to behave like a guru and not as a common man. But your group gave me a chance to forget that I am a guru and spend my time as a common man. I had no pressure of maintaining the distance of a teacher and the student in your group. I could relax myself and clean off all my suppressed emotions and feelings in the company of you all. I wanted an opportunity like this where I could be in the group laughing and enjoying. Thanks to all of you. You gave me what I needed.
Serge is a very simple man. He is very emotional, which, I am observing since his first visit to my place. He has a good heart and you must have experienced this during your stay and travel with him. Serge did not behave like other tour operators and group leaders who charged money for every thing from the travellers. Serge might have paid all his expenses, I believe, and did not collect that from the members of the group. Serge has big ambitions and he wanted all of you to visit many more places in and around Bangalore . But due to your short stay it was not possible.
Erwin is polite and courteous. He observes every thing in detail and has many many good words for others. I enjoyed him dancing and with me, the staff members of the club were thrilled at watching him. What a nice entertainment!
Robert though looked very reserve, but he was certainly good and interacting with me. I was after him to adjust the asanas when he was practicing. I was enjoying the pressure and force I used to apply on him. Robert is very friendly. I wish to have more students like Roberts in my class.
Leo is superb. Hats-off to his enthusiasm and good spirits. He danced for a very long period. He received my instructions with an open mind. He tried to do the practice at his best. I saw many things in him and got good tips from his practice.
Joyce is a wonderful person. She is very humours and motivating. I feel that she was more open to the suggestions at the end of her stay and practice in my class. She was noticing the difference in her when she incorporated my suggestions in the practice. I remember her a lot teasing me. It is such a nice experience and a morale boosting.
Ginette is a hard working and I told my wife about her seriousness in her practice. Of course, I am missing her. I had a big plans with her but maybe it may happen in future.
Regarding Dominique, I do not know what to say. All of you will say and I am sure that you will say good and sweet things.
Each of you have a huge ability and capacity and can become an institution by yourself and in your own way to help and promote others in your own field and in your own way. I wish that you will make a reality of this.
I hope that I will be seeing all of you again and again.
With many many wishes to all of you
Master ji

Trip to India comements from Joyce Janier
India was a rich tapestry of color and humanity. With a population of 7 million, the streets of Bangalore were bustling with pedestrians and auto rickshaws (taxis), hands ever ready at the horn, the blaring sounds always a constant.
I saw this trip to India as an opportunity to meet and learn from Serge’s teacher, Masterji, an international ashtanga yoga teacher. As any other student, I went there with the hopes of working on the form and symmetry of my yoga practise. I looked forward to being immersed in yoga and its philosophy in the country of its origin. And what did I learn from this yoga venture? I learned: ‘relax’, ‘breathe’ and ‘slowly slowly’, good lessons that straddle both yoga and life.
Our first weekend off was spent exploring temples and immersing ourselves in the Hindu religion and philosophy. The next weekend brought us a one night stay in Mysore - a delightful break from the bustling and crowded city of Bangalore. Mainly a tourist area, Mysore is also gaining a reputation as a trendy yoga mecca and is the home of the Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga research Institute. The Mysore palace also sits front and centre, a wonder of Hindu architecture. The city also has at least one great nightclub – who would have known?
The last week at the Ayurvedic spa was a welcome and enjoyable wind down from the previous weeks activities. Surrounded by the lush green mountain countryside, and set amongst a tea plantation, we met new and interesting people, enjoyed great food, daily relaxing massage therapies, yoga and meditation.
Thank you Serge for including me in your journey, you were a tour guide extraordinaire and a very good friend to us all.

My Trip to India----A doorway to Adventure
It has now been a few weeks since my first ever journey to India. I will make an attempt to put my thoughts into words that hopefully will reflect my experience.
I tried not to have any preconceived notions about what I would find upon my arrival in India. I remind myself that I will make a conscious effort to be open-minded.
Arriving at a bustling airport in Bangalore at 3:30 a.m. was the starting point of my adventure.
---------speeding along the highway to the hotel, 5 of us along with the driver and an assistant, in a small SUV.
---------we check into our rooms, small but comfortable with all the amenities that we are accustomed to-----even a small refrigerator
--------- without sleep we arrive at 6:00 a.m. for our first yoga practice. MasterJi (Serge’s teacher) welcomes us to his studio.
----------Master Ji is a very gentle soul and his kind demeanour sets the tone for our practice sessions for the next 2 weeks.
What an excellent teacher he is----supportive---encouraging----assisting----recommending------empathizing when we need it in those low moments------reminding us to breathe and relax whilst doing the asanas. And what a difference that makes!!!!!!!!
----------after practice- (which became a ritual for the next 2 weeks)
------- BREAKFAST ----Idlly----Rice bath—Thali Platter---- Paneer---Masala Chai Tea---and the most delicious COFFEE
----------afternoons------pranayama-----mantra----discussions with Master Ji
----------late afternoons & evening -----touring------shopping-----oil massages at an Ayurvedic spa down the street from our hotel
-----bustling, vendors selling fruit, vegetables, meals to go
----small shops for tailoring , ironing, laundry service, jewellery
---- cows sharing the road with traffic
----even a camel on the sidewalk right in Bangalore
----horns honking everywhere
----friendly people willing to help when you need to find out where you are going
The 2 weeks that were spent in Bangalore can be described as exhilarating, fascinating, educational, fun-filled, calming, exciting, INCREDIBEL!!!!!
---Travels with Serge and Master Ji to the temples in the afternoons and evenings. (Hara Krishna, Keshava Temple, Karanataka, to mention a few)
----Out of town trips on weekends to Hassan, Mysore, Halebidu, and numerous other centres where we paused for lunch, a washroom break, that picture perfect moment, the rural areas with the rice paddies or farmers working in the field with tractors, oxen or just plain people power, all added to the entire experience. The lifeblood of India in all of its mysticism, the mix of culture, the people, the vibrant energy around us, the variety in the landscape, this richness of nature was all there just waiting for us to internalize.
--------- Having Master Ji accompany us added to the rich cultural experience the entire time. It was like having a personal guide with us. His knowledge just made our journeys so much more meaningful. This was so evident when we visited the sights at Belur, Halebeedu and Shravanabelagola.
The Ayurveda Retreat in Coonnoor.
--------2000 ft. above sea level-----fresh air-------gorgeous scenery everywhere you look-------tea plantations, trees all around
---------private consultation with the on site Ayurvedic doctor
---------2 massages daily
---------yoga practice--------meditation--------
---------breakfast, lunch & dinner all provided.
---------resting, reading, walking in the tea plantation, visiting with others who have come to the retreat, some for study, others for various training programs. What a way to spend a week!!!!!!!
The last week at the retreat was a perfect way to complete the India visit. The entire time just seemed to be a whirlwind and the retreat was a perfect way to slow down just a bit.
Would I do it again? ABSOLUTELY!
Serge Salvadore organized the most wonderful excursion. His planning made the journey move seamlessly. He deserves a great deal of credit for all the work he did. He was a fantastic organizer and leader. He provided an atmosphere for learning, and enriching our cultural experience whilst incorporating a whole lot of fun wherever we went.
Namaste Serge!
INDIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
